There are lower priced lodging options that are comfortable and have nice features, so do not be discouraged.
An historic and award-winning national landmark, Raffles Hotel celebrated its 125th year in business in 2012. Recently refurbished, it retains a lot of the elements of its 1920’s heyday, with guest rooms done in the early 20th century style. The high price tag gets you luxury and excellent service, but also the opportunity to claim that you were a part of Singapore’s colonial history.
The Berjaya Singapore Hotel is a lovely little boutique hotel that harkens back to the colonial days in Singapore’s history, before the arrival of the skyscraper. There is an excellent French restaurant on site, and breakfast is included in the very reasonable rates.
